(Tokyo) Encounter valuable French luxury! Delicious fresh duck meat noodle & goose liver rice!

(Tokyo) Encounter valuable French luxury! Delicious fresh duck meat noodle & goose liver rice!

August 26, 2019
This time I am going to introduce a very different ramen from what we commonly see. It's not the same kind of mainstream soup, neither is it the designated ingredients we are familiar with. It is the light ramen that has been popular in Japan in recent years, which overturns the stereotype of Japanese ramen being too salty and heavy.

At the same time, the ingredients are smoked duck meat and the French flavored goose liver, which are rarely seen in Japan. Because it's located in the lane of Kinshi, downtown of Tokyo, the majority of the guests who come here are local Japanese.

Isn't it appealing to encounter valuable French flavor hidden in downtown? Come with us to enjoy the combination of downtown Tokyo and the unique, luxurious food of France!

"Full Chicken Pavilion" came from its sister store, located across the street at an angle, "Red Snapper Ramen." It won the champion of "the Japanese TRY Ramen Award". The "Red Snapper Ramen" founded in 2016, is already a popular noodle store that has a large number of people waiting in line for it. The line often extends to the park next to the store. Later, after opening a larger branch on the opposite side, they solved the problem.

In 2018, they opened the "Full Chicken Pavilion" in their first store. It also features the same light and refreshing noodles as the "Red Snapper Ramen," which features the red snapper golden soup served with cherry log smoked meat. But the ingredients are very different.

The original is red snapper ramen and the new one is duck meat ramen. These two new flavors of noodles have won the taste buds of many Japanese eaters. They have written a page of the legend of ramen on this street!

Rarely seen duck meat ramen noodles

The signature of the "Full Chicken Pavilion" is the duck meat ramen, which is rarely seen in Japan. The soup is made with duck meat and duck bones, and the meat on the top of the noodles is also fresh and tender smoked duck meat. The fresh soup at "Full Chicken Pavilion" is made of only duck and water, featuring the simple, natural taste without any chemical additives. The light but profound soup, made only of duck meat and bones, makes all who have tried it want to come back again.

The two kinds of duck meat that are smoked at a low temperature are tender and delicious. With some goose liver oil on it, the original fat of the duck meat tastes even more outstanding. Together with the whole wheat noodles from Hokkaido and the crispy komatsu from Funabashi, those ingredients can be said to be a new way of eating ramen.

Duck meat and green onion match very well, even better with some horseradish and grapefruit pepper. Full duck soup has two options for salt or soy sauce, and also that of dipping noodles. For dipping noodle eaters, at the end, don't forget to add some hot sea weed soup to the rest of the dipping sauce so you can enjoy the elegant and light full duck soup for a perfect wrap of the meal.

For friends with a great appetite, we recommend ordering noodles and duck meat rice. It's said that this is also the Japanese's favorite double carbohydrate eating method, and it is both satisfying and sufficient for people to eat noodles and rice together.

Take a close look at this bowl of white rice, you can see smoked duck meat pieces, green onion, and mashed ginger. The restaurant suggests you pour the leftover duck soup into the rice. You can also ask for seasonings, such as horseradish, ginger, and grapefruit pepper to add different flavors. Those who have tried it compliment it, saying it's an exclusive duck meat porridge!

Encountering the luxury of French flavor

"Full Chicken Pavilion" also has a very attractive ingredient, that is, the goose liver that is full of French flavor. Their goose liver oil ramen costs only 850 yen, and you can get two combinations of smoked duck and goose liver.

In addition, there is a 20 per day limited goose liver rice, which reaches the most delicious state and is a perfect match with the fresh duck meat and the fragrant goose liver seasoned with their specially made sauce. Personally, I think that the sauce is too salty. It is recommended that you ask for less sauce, which is more perfect. Looking at that big piece of sumptuous goose liver, it is hard to believe that you can enjoy it at only 500 yen.

In addition, in summer, the shop launches the Chinese goose liver cold noodles, which is also less than a thousand yen, limited to 20 servings a day, and 30 on holidays. Such luxury of good value is hidden right in the lane of downtown Tokyo!

There is a place called Koto Bridge Park about 10 minutes walking from the south exit of JR Kinshicho Station. "Full Chicken Pavilion" is right next to the park. From the front of the store, you can see the Tokyo Sky Tree standing not far away, a unique fusion in the downtown street.

There are only eight seats in the store, so the speed of queuing into the store is a bit slow. It is recommended that you go earlier before the store is open or after lunch time. (Remember to buy a meal coupon at the automatic ticket machine before getting seated).

Epilogue

The most well-known part of Kinshicho is the spacious Akachan headquarters shop and the hundred yen store Daiso. In 2019, the famous Japanese chain department store PARCO was also stationed in the downtown Kinshicho, so it can be said to be a good place to visit, fun, and rich in local cuisine.

Your might as well add it to the itinerary of your next self-guided trip to Tokyo! When visiting Kinshicho, I hightly recommend you to explore the "Full Chicken Pavilion" for an alternative kind of noodles combined with the luxury of France.
